The highest possible award for packaging in the world: The WorldStar Award for Packaging (WorldStar) in 2015 was won by GRAFOBAL, akciova spolocnost, Skalica in the worldwide competition with its product: Mistral Grand Selection tea case.
The latest WorldStar award was granted by an independent jury, which evaluated packaging in seven categories at its meeting in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Grafobal, which this year recalls 110 years of continuous production, has already won this excellent award for packaging, also seen as the "Packaging Oscar" for the eighth time.
The winning case with the packaging of Mistral finest organic tea was created from the unique collaboration of the marketing expert Peter Littmann from Hamburg with the product manufacturer Baliarne obchodu, a. s. Poprad and specialists from Grafobal. The assignment was to establish a new Slovak product in the highly competitive Western European market with natural, organic teas.
The intention of the creators was for the structure, design and graphics of the tea packaging to be beautifully tuned with the attributes: purity, harmony and relaxation, while also filling the unique concept of the sustainable ecological principle. Therefore, specially developed materials from sugar cane and corn were applied when making the tea bags. Thanks to this, CO2 emissions were reduced by up to seventy percent during the production of the packaging and the resulting product is itself fully bio-degradable within twelve weeks.
